ISSWC 2009 Final results
After dynamic and fast races all week long for all 111 participants form 14 countries, 29th Ice and Snow Sailing World Championships is officially closed until next year. There have been five World Champion Cups, 15 medal sets and more than 30 special nominations presented in the awards ceremony of ISSWC 2009.

Outstanding performance has shown Alexander Larrson from Sweden, winning all disciplines in wings class, getting 2 World Champion Cups. Russian riders stayed unbeatable in kite class nearly in all divisions. In the classical sailboard course and marathon discipline young riders from Poland showed technical and fast performance, but in sailboards slalom discipline surfers from Latvia demonstrated what it is all about! Weather forecast for February 20th - 27th


Usually we don`t believe much in it, as weather is typically changing very fast, but this is forecast at the moment.


Information for all participants and guests
Friends and all other guests coming to ISSWC 2009 are offered to get special package for 50EUR or 35LVL (must be paid in Registration office in cash) to get all the same benifits as participants - special transfer to and back to the hotels and parties, lunch every day, entrance to opening and closing ceremony and info materials.
Opening ceremony will take place in Europa City Hotel Sunny Terrace on Monday, 16th Febr., 20:00-23:00, but Closing ceremony in Radio Bar - in the heart of Riga Old Town on Saturday, 21st Febr., starting from 20:00. More information will be available in Registration office during the event.


ISSWC 2009 Pre-training on Saturday and Sunday (14 - 15.02.)
All participants and others are invited to join free training before ISSWC 2009 on Saturday and Sunday(14.-15th of February) from 11:00-18:00 on the event`s place - Windsurfing Club 360, Riga. Nice bar to warm up and hot tea, great option to meet local riders and just hang around with other surfers! Check out map of the Windsurfing Club 360 to see driving directions.


Announcement for all WISSA2009 competitors and guests!
Owing to alterations of Latvian tax policy, after 14th January all of published Hotel prices on www.wissa2009.org, will be changed to bit higher ones, so, we appeal you to registry in Hotels as soon as possible!

Check out list of all competitors, who have registered already. During next weeks competitors list will be updated each Thursday. Also actual photos from events` place will be published once a week.

In additional file you can find an Invitation of Ice and Snow sailing World Championship 2009, that you can send to your local clubs, associations,media and ouf course anyone else, who might be interested!


Media accreditation
All journalists, photographers and video operators are very recommended to fullfil accreditation form until 13th of February.
Accreditation approval will be sent within one day.

Boards for rent
In cooperation with Latvian hi-boards production company Hiberna, there is an opportunity to rent hi-boards for sled class. Hi-boards are proved to be one of the most maneuverable and fastest boards during Winter Windsurfing European Cup 2009 series especially in slalom discipline.

Prices for rent:
• 25 EUR per day
• 150 EUR for 6 days (16th – 21st Febr.).

However, Hiberna is offering special deal for all ISSWC 2009 competitors – you can buy a new Hiberna board with 150 EUR discount instead of renting it.

Prices for boards:
• Speedster – 1200 EUR With discount 1050 EUR
• Edge – 810 EUR With discount 660 EUR
